hey man, with a defibrillator, a heat lamp,a tanning bed, a bunch of towels, a set of fake fingernails to replace the ones she ripped off trying to climb out of that well, and an iron to get out the really tough wrinkles, plus a little botox, she'd be good as new!
wow. i love the contrasting colours & tones. the pose; her toe touching the water; classic and well achieved
reminds me of that moses story, or some kind of excorcist type-thing.. i half expect her face to snap up, with delirious eyes and maniacal laughter as blood drips down her fangs. then again, i'm crazy.
if i were to point out one thing that errs me.. from a photographic standpoint, the composition is very standard, although the perspective is quite nice. if you wanted my suggestion, i'd place the burning tree in the more distant background, off to the side, with curving footprints or something to draw the eye back.. so it looks like she's walking away from something? see, lately i've realized the largest problem with my photography is lack of depth (ie, foreground, middleground, background, etc etc, instead of just one layer of depth. there are sort of two here, but it kinda plays out as one because there is nothing to suggest she is any closer to the front than the tree, other than her body covering it.. arg! sorry if i'm writing too much, or if my opinion doesn't matter since you drew it from a dream and that's precisely how you want it, i'm just thinking about what i'm trying to learn photographically, so i'm going to use a period here and close the bracket, finishing off this comment.)
I'm glad you weren't like, offended, or something. That's my biggest fear, when I write a critique.
Oh, and, no problem whatsoever. If something someone creates moves me to write something, or do something, it's their own doing, not mine... i just reflect everything i've learned & experienced.
in my opinion, people who cannot take criticism should not involve themselves in the art world.
When you post art online, you're asking for feedback, be it positive or negative, that's how you grow as an artist.
Nothing pisses me off more than some kid bitching and complaining because someone commented that their anatomy was off or their composition didn't work well.
I also find that the people who tend to take criticism the hardest are the ones who need it the most.
