My first assignment from my first year drawing class at school.
We were supposed to do a still life, leaving behind all of the underpinnings of the drawing which I would usually erase.
I kinda like them, they add something to it I think :)

2.5 hours, 6B, 2B and HB pencils with a big blending stick and a kneaded eraser used.

Very happy to see you decided to take on art school :D That said, the tonal values on this is very distinct. You captured the highlights and shadows well and you greatly balanced the contrast. You're going to do fine for the rest of your classes. Have fun! :D

Hey...that is a very good work. The shading and Lightreflections are looking very realistic. But..its hard to say what kind of underground it is where to shoes lie on. Paper or Textile? So that is a thing you can work out more.

But it is still a great job!!! Compliment

Ooh, love those soft highlights on the side of the shoe. Very naturalistic.

You said you're at NSCAD, eh? Are you down at the Port campus?

Niiice. Well, I spend most of my life at Duke street (and the rest down by the port), so we will eventually run into each other. Depending on my level of consciousness, it may be accidental and hopefully not on stairs.

We're not allowed to erase anything. Ever. It's an experience I tell ye.
