i am really proud of this image.
i did Owl Boy on July 26th of last year.
In that year, I feel I've made a lot of strides and have really polished my work a bit more.
It really makes me feel good that I've improved this much in the past year :)

I still love both images, but I think this really does show how far you've gone. The horizontal layout is a massive compositional improvement. Everything is much tighter and doesn't have some "sloppy" parts in the background like the old one did. The shading is subtle yet effective.

While I do like the old one for the art's more retro, "graphic" feel, this is a more visually pleasing image overall.

I love everything about this, and especially the crazy owl on the far left.
(And the snowy owl and the barn owl and Owl Boy and the background and the tree, oh there is too much)

Not sure if I don't like it, but the swirls on the branch don't look quite organic and natural.

That's fairly insignificant compared to how much I love the rest of it, though- especially psycho-owl.

What a beautiful remake. It looked so familiar, almost like it was the exact same picture but when I looked at the old one it is amazing how different they are. Beautiful!!
