You must've gone through west Texas. East Texas is actually in the big thicket along with Louisiana, and is full of evergreens.

Woah, that's quite a detour driving from Canada! And yeah, people tend to be pretty friendly around here. I had the opportunity to work for Google last year, but that meant I had to move to California. While it was a huge opportunity, I just couldn't leave the coziness of Texas or my sweet sweet Texan girlfriend.
